The Leaning Tower of Pisa

Leaning over to one side by a full 5.5 degrees, the bell tower of the Pisa Cathedral is one of the most recognizable monuments in Italy. But what makes it so special?

Since its construction in the 12th century, the Leaning Tower of Pisa has been subject to various twists of fate. In 1990, it had to be closed because it was at risk of collapse, but after a complete restoration, it is now possible to climb its 8 floors and 293 steps of its spiral staircase. At the top, seven bells can be found, one for each musical note from A-G. The viewpoint from this final floor is equally striking, offering the best views of the monumental complex of the Piazza dei Miracoli.

This jewel of Romanesque art, declared a World Heritage Site, has also appeared in a number of films, including Superman III.

Pisa Cathedral

The skip-the-line ticket to the tower also allows you to freely visit the Pisa Cathedral. If its outward appearance is impressive for its brilliant white and grey, inside, you will find an incredible artistic treasure. It is especially recommended to pay close attention to the caryatids sculptures, each one representing a different virtue, the pulpit, the high altar, and the breathtaking mosaic in the aspe. 

Pisa Baptistery & Camposanto Monumentale

• Pisa Baptistery: you'll see its imposing Romanesque-Gothic dome. Did you know it's Italy's largest dome, standing at almost 55 m tall? The marble baptismal font will greet you surrounded by columns and surprising acoustics.
• Camposanto Monumentale: you'll admire its elegant galleries of Gothic arches, medieval frescoes, and Roman sarcophagi that evoke centuries of history.
• Sinopie Museum: here, you'll find the preparatory drawings for the frescoes of the cemetery. This collection offers a fascinating insight into how the great Pisan artists worked, including Buffalmacco, Benozzo Gozzoli, and others.

• A few days after booking, we'll send you your official ticket
• During the booking process, you must choose a day and time to climb the Leaning Tower. In order to preserve the monument, access to the tower is restricted to 40 people every 15 minutes.
• The tour of the tower is taken at your own speed, but it cannot last more than 30 minutes.
• A ticket to the Cathedral is included with your ticket to the Leaning Tower. With this ticket, you may visit the Pisa Cathedral whenever you like, without needing to pass by the ticket office.
• For safety reasons, children under 8 may not climb the Leaning Tower.
• If the time you selected is not available, we'll contact you to assign the first free time on the same day.
